Variety reports that Txintxua Films, the Basque production company behind Netflix series "Intimacy," has come aboard Ernesto Martínez Bucio's second feature, "This Is the Memory I Would Like to Have of Mom." The project marks a Spain-Mexico co-production between Txintxua and Mexican outfit Colectivo Colmena, and has been selected as one of fifteen titles for the San Sebastián Film Festival's industry-focused Forum section. Martínez Bucio previously won the Berlinale's Best First Feature award, making this follow-up a notable entry on the festival circuit this year.
When a film about reconstructed memory and maternal loss travels from Mexico to Spain, carried by a director whose first work already earned international recognition, it signals something about where meaningful cinema is being made and who is paying attention. humanbygod.com exists at that same intersection: where cultural work from the margins arrives at the center, and where faith-informed readers look for commentary that takes both the art and its human source seriously. The site covers entertainment not as promotion but as part of a broader conversation about what people make and why it matters.
For readers tracking international cinema, this co-production model is worth watching. Spain and Mexico have produced some of the most durable Catholic visual imaginations in film history, and a project about the memory of a mother invites questions about guilt, devotion, and the stories families tell to survive themselves. humanbygod.com follows these threads without forcing them into a sales frame, treating the work as worthy of attention on its own terms and the reader as someone who can hold faith and cultural curiosity together without contradiction.
