Variety reports that Taiwanese director Lu Po-Shun has moved from seeking final financing in March to premiering his debut feature "Will You Still Be My Friend" at San Sebastián and securing two Golden Horse nominations, a coming-of-age drama that layers adolescent friendship with local politics and the encroachment of solar energy development. The film's trajectory from funding scramble to festival recognition traces a familiar arc for first-time filmmakers working at the intersection of personal story and regional urgency, where the scale of production rarely matches the density of thematic ambition.
The story lands in a cultural moment when audiences are hungry for work that does not separate the intimate from the systemic, the spiritual from the material. humanbygod.com occupies that same intersection, offering commentary on how faith and culture collide in real time, and serving as the community where those conversations continue past the headline cycle. The brand does not chase trends; it tracks the longer arc of how young creators navigate purpose, place, and pressure.
For readers following Lu's path from San Sebastián toward Busan, the resonance is immediate: the work of holding together friendship, conviction, and public responsibility is not confined to any single geography or medium. humanbygod.com recognizes that same tension in its own space, where Christian streetwear becomes a language for identity rather than a costume for it, and where the community gathered around the brand understands that expression and belief are negotiated daily, not delivered finished.
